Terms of Service — Easy Returns

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Easy Returns application ("App") provided by Advera LLC FZ ("Advera", "we", "us"). By installing the App from the Shopify App Store or otherwise using it, the merchant ("Merchant", "you") agrees to these Terms.

1. Definitions

• App — the Easy Returns Shopify application, including the merchant admin, the customer withdrawal portal, related APIs, and any updates.
• Merchant — the natural or legal person operating a Shopify store who installs the App.
• End-customer — a customer of the Merchant who uses the App's public portal to submit a cancellation or withdrawal request.
• Shopify — Shopify Inc. and its affiliates, whose platform hosts the Merchant's store and processes payments and billing.

2. The service

The App lets Merchants offer their End-customers a self-service portal for cancelling orders and exercising their statutory right of withdrawal (14 days under EU/Danish consumer law). The App interacts with Shopify APIs to look up orders, cancel unfulfilled orders (with optional automatic refund and restock), and register return requests for already-shipped orders.

3. Eligibility and account

• You must operate an active Shopify store and install the App via Shopify's OAuth flow.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the store data made available to the App and for keeping the App's permissions (OAuth scopes) up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity under your Shopify store's installation.

4. Subscription, trial and fees

• All charges are handled through Shopify Billing. Advera does not process payment cards directly.
• Plans: USD 30 per month or USD 300 per year.
• 14-day free trial on first install. You are not charged during the trial and may uninstall at any time.
• Usage fee: USD 5 per 1,000 successful cancellations processed through the App, capped at USD 100 per billing period. Usage-based charges apply to monthly plans only; annual plans are billed at the flat annual price.
• Plan changes take effect after you approve the new charge in Shopify.
• Fees are non-refundable except where required by mandatory law.

5. Merchant obligations

• Use the App only for its intended purpose and only for orders belonging to your own store.
• Comply with all laws that apply to your business, including consumer-protection, tax, and privacy laws (in particular the 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU and the Danish Consumer Contracts Act).
• Provide End-customers with lawful terms, return policy, and privacy information linked from the portal.
• Keep the App's permissions current so that cancellations, refunds, and return requests can be executed.

6. Acceptable use

You may not, and may not allow any third party to:

• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App;
• circumvent security controls, rate limits, or authentication;
• use the App to abuse Shopify APIs or to send unsolicited communications;
• resell, sublicense, or provide the App as a service to third parties.

7. Support and availability

Support is provided in English by email at support@easyreturns.dk. We aim for high availability but the App is provided on a best-effort basis; scheduled maintenance and third-party outages (Shopify, hosting) may cause temporary unavailability.

8. Data protection

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy available at https://advera.dk/privacy. For End-customer personal data (order number, email, withdrawal reason, selected items) Advera acts as data processor on behalf of the Merchant. For Merchant account data Advera acts as controller.

9. Intellectual property

The App, its source code, trademarks and documentation are and remain the exclusive property of Advera LLC FZ. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the App to the Merchant. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App for the duration of an active installation.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Advera does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any specific cancellation, refund, or return will be accepted by Shopify.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Advera's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the App shall not exceed the fees actually paid by the Merchant to Advera (via Shopify Billing) in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Advera is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data.

12. Term and termination

• These Terms apply for as long as the App is installed on your Shopify store.
• You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin.
• We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the App, or fail to pay fees charged via Shopify.
• On uninstallation, Shopify sends a `shop/redact` webhook; Advera deletes all stored shop data within 48 hours of receiving that webhook, as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the App admin or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be brought before the competent Danish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or statutory rights.
